				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cardiologist <strong>Sheryl Garrett, MD</strong>, will lead a conversation about “Empowering The Heart: A Talk For Women,” at the March 1 session of Let’s Talk About Women’s Health, an education program for women sponsored by Sonoma Valley Hospital.</p>
<p>In her talk, Dr. Garrett will address how a women’s heart evolves throughout a woman’s life, from teenager to post-menopause, and what this means for women in terms of maintaining a healthy heart. Dr. Garrett will review new findings in the cardiovascular field and spotlight important prevention practices for women. There will be ample time for questions and answers.</p>
<p>Joining Dr. Garrett will be Yoga instructor <strong>Kristine Marchus</strong> who will lead a gentle practice for the heart.</p>
<p>The March session will be held at <strong>Ramekin’s, 450 West Spain Street in Sonoma, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Friday, March 1.</strong> There is a $10 donation at the door to cover light refreshments and beverages, and a no-host bar will be available. Reservations are required as space is limited. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. <p><strong>Sheryl Garrett, MD</strong>, a cardiologist, recently joined Northern California Medical Associates Cardiology practice in Sonoma. Dr. Garrett earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University, her medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School, and then returned to the Bay Area to complete a residency in internal medicine at Stanford University. This was followed by a fellowship in cardiology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Her passion is to treat the whole person and she works with patients as a partner for their cardiac health.</p>
<p><strong>Kristine Marchus, MA, RYT</strong> is on the faculty at Santa Rosa Junior College where she teaches dance and Yoga. She is a certified Yoga instructor and teaches Yoga for children and adults at The Yoga Community and at the Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma.</p>
<p><strong>Let’s Talk About Women’s Health (formerly GirlTalk),</strong> is an education outreach program of Sonoma Valley Hospital, providing women in our community with the latest information on timely health and wellness topics to help them take charge of their health and wellbeing.</p>
