Sonoma Valley Hospital is introducing specialized health care just for women.  A Woman’s Place At Sonoma Valley Hospital  Women’s Health Services At Sonoma Valley Hospital is a new service providing a comprehensive range of women’s health care and preventive screening services which will be located in a private and supportive environment within the Hospital.

The women’s health care team brings together five highly experienced physicians, including three board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists and a board-certified surgeon specializing in breast health and breast surgery. There is also a physical therapist with specialized training in pelvic health. The program will have a dedicated Patient Navigator to assist patients by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and helping patients prepare for procedures.

A Woman’s Place  Women’s Health Services at Sonoma Valley Hospital offers a range of obstetrics and gynecology services to address a woman’s special health needs. These include: Breast Health Counseling, Procedures and Surgery; Fertility Management; Contraception Management; Genetic Testing for Cancer; Nutrition Counseling; Menopause and Perimenopause Management, including Hormonal Therapy; Incontinence Procedures and Therapy; and Pelvic Health Physical Therapy.

A Woman’s Place physicians are available now for office appointments, with the new suite within the hospital expected to open in April.

Patients also will have access to the hospital’s new state-of-the-art 3D Mammography System which is scheduled to become operational in March 2018.

“We approached our new service with the understanding that a woman’s health is affected by many factors which change over a woman’s life,” said Kelly Mather, SVH CEO. “A young woman often has very different health care needs from a woman experiencing menopause. We have brought together an outstanding team of the very best physicians and specialists in our region, enabling women to have access to the services they need right here in Sonoma Valley.”

“Our goal is to make this a special place where women can feel comfortable and receive attentive, personalized care, yet have easy access to other hospital services if needed,” Mather said. “To accomplish this, we are redesigning space on the hospital’s third floor to create a private setting with a woman’s touch.”
